Employees of businesses and corporations may serve in the areas of Coatesville, West Chester, Phoenixville and St. Peter’s Village during the week. Participants enjoy a day away from the office while creating tighter networks through team building, learning new skills, and helping neighbors living in substandard housing. All skill levels are welcome; typical projects include drywall, plaster patching, window replacements, flooring, siding, and painting.

Corporate Workday

Companies who benefit by being part of a supportive community often want to become involved with those in that community who are less fortunate. The choice to serve others in the community sets a company apart and creates an atmosphere of compassion that extends into other aspects of corporate life. On the workday, co-workers strengthen their relationships with each other through teambuilding as they work together to better the life of another person.

Sponsor a Home

Sponsoring a Home allows your employees to become intimately involved in helping a family in need. Your gift will be used to completely repair a home and restore hope for a local family. It costs just $15,000 to completely repair the average home, which takes from 10 to 14 months. You can make your donation all at once or divide it as you wish during that period.

FAQ

Some corporate sponsors send volunteers one Saturday each month, while others volunteer one day a year. We can work with your level of interest and supplement with general volunteers as needed.

Workdays are generally held on a Tuesday or Thursday in one of four communities – Coatesville, West Chester, Phoenixville or St. Peter’s Village. We work for a full day, meeting at 8:30 a.m. for an Orientation and ending by 4 p.m. Orientations are held at one of our four warehouses located in the community where the home is located. Get directions to the appropriate warehouse.

While there is no general fee established for a workday, Good Works does expend funds for supervisory planning and staffing of this weekday workday. We try to keep this expense as low as possible so as not to make it a hardship for your company. For each corporate workday, we are suggest the following donation:

  • A $250 donation from companies of 50 employees or less, or
  • A $500 donation from companies that have more than 50 employees
