Foxwynd Foundation Awards $60,000 Grant to Advance Good Works Digital Transformation

COATESVILLE, PA — 7/27/2026 — Good Works, Inc., a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to repairing homes and restoring hope for low-income homeowners, is pleased to announce that it has received a $60,000 grant from the Foxwynd Foundation to support the next phase of development of the Good Works Digital Toolbox (GWDT)—a comprehensive software platform designed to strengthen the organization’s ability to serve more families throughout the region. Just as a carpenter depends on a well-organized toolbox to complete quality work, the Good Works Digital Toolbox will equip staff and volunteers with the information and resources they need to serve homeowners with greater efficiency and excellence.

This grant marks the beginning of a new partnership between the Foxwynd Foundation and Good Works, reflecting a shared commitment to strengthening communities through thoughtful innovation and compassionate service.

“I have firsthand knowledge of the value and support Good Works brings to the families they serve. Though I personally spent only a few Saturdays on a Good Works crew, I can say their organization is first-rate. Their services are truly a godsend for the families they serve,” said Keith Bentley, Founder and Trustee of the Foxwynd Foundation.

The Foxwynd Foundation grant was awarded with the requirement of matching funds, a challenge that has been met through the generosity of an anonymous donor who shares Good Works’ vision for expanding its community impact.

The Good Works Digital Toolbox represents the centerpiece of a multi-year digital transformation initiative that will modernize virtually every aspect of the organization’s operations. The integrated web-based platform will provide comprehensive modules for homeowner assessment, work planning, volunteer scheduling, resource management, materials coordination, and performance reporting.

More than a technology project, the Good Works Digital Toolbox creates the infrastructure for service that will enable the ministry to serve more homeowners without a proportional increase in administrative overhead. By strengthening organizational capacity, the system will help Good Works expand its impact while remaining a faithful steward of the resources entrusted to it.

Once deployed, the system will enable office staff to process homeowner applications more efficiently, help repair technicians coordinate complex home repair projects, and provide volunteers with clear work assignments and project information before and during workdays. By streamlining operations and improving communication, the Good Works Digital Toolbox will allow the organization to repair more homes, enhance the volunteer experience, and extend its ministry throughout the community.

Good Works has partnered with Freya Systems, a software development company based in Media, Pennsylvania, to build the platform using AI-accelerated software development techniques. The current phase of the project will produce a fully functional web application hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), followed by beta testing with selected Good Works staff and volunteer teams.

The grant builds upon the successful completion of the project’s first phase, which included a comprehensive requirements analysis, feasibility study, and pilot development. A final phase, which is partially funded, will focus on completing system documentation, user guides, training materials, and organization-wide implementation.

Development of the Good Works Digital Toolbox is expected to be completed during 2027, with deployment across the organization to follow.

As the system matures, Good Works anticipates that the platform will not only strengthen its own operations but also create opportunities to share proven processes and technology with other nonprofit organizations seeking to serve their communities more effectively.

The Foxwynd Foundation DAF funded the Foxwynd Foundation’s generous donation to Good Works.
