FAQ

Once we have reviewed your Intake and determined if your information meets Good Works’ initial criteria, one of our trained volunteer Application Interviewers will be assigned to call you to schedule an Application Visit. The purpose of the application visit is to help you in completing the application form, introduce you to Good Works, and provide other resources including and beyond home repair needs.

A short time before we start working at your home, a home inspection will be scheduled. The purpose of the home inspection is for the Repair Supervisor to evaluate all repairs that are requested. There is a chance that not all of the repairs you request will be approved. A work plan will be created, and it will list those repairs that Good Works will commit to complete at no cost to you. Also, you will review the ways you and your family will participate on workdays based on your ability.

Most of the repairs are done by Good Works volunteers. The volunteers are led by a volunteer Work Crew Leader and a Technical Advisor. Please visit our Programs page to read more about the volunteers completing the repairs.

If there is an emergency, such as lack of heat in the winter months, or a lack of water, we will make every effort to schedule that repair as soon as possible. However, we are not an emergency repair service; we do not have technicians on call on evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Currently, our wait list is about 2 years long. However, we may work on more urgent needs sooner, while other repairs might take 2 or more years to complete.

YES! We have a wide network of resources and are ready to pray with you about any of your needs.

We Want to Help
